Death toll from Sweida clashes reaches 2,038

Yesterday evening, Red Crescent teams recovered the bodies of seven people from the village of Lahtha in northern Sweida, including a woman, who were killed during the deadly July events.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the victims included an elderly man, his wife, and their son. The bodies were transported to Sweida Hospital, while the fate of dozens of missing persons remains unknown.

In a related development, the SOHR documented the field execution of five people from Sweida, including a woman, by the Syrian Transitional Government forces. This brings the total number of July victims from the Druze community to 1,583.

Field statistics indicate that the overall death toll since July 13 has reached 2,038, distributed as follows:

730 from Sweida, including 162 civilians (21 children and 51 women), plus 12 civilians from outside the community, including six women.

808 Druze citizens, including 75 women, 15 children, and elderly individuals; 20 members of the National Hospital medical staff were executed in the field.

477 from the Syrian Transitional Government forces, including 40 from Bedouin tribes and one armed Lebanese.

15 members of the Transitional Government forces were killed in Israeli airstrikes.

3 people, including a woman, were killed in an airstrike on the Ministry of Defense building.

2 journalists died during the clashes.
