Kobani remains under a suffocating siege. All basic services have been cut off. Rahaf Saadoun, the daughter of the martyred commander Faysal Abu Layla, says they will break this siege through their strength and struggle.

Rahaf Saadoun (16) adds that she and her peers will protect the legacy of the martyrs and defend their city and their honor, saying:

“I am from the steadfast city of Kobani. Mercenaries are attacking our city and trying to erase our identity and our language. We are besieged, but through our resistance, and thanks to our martyrs and leaders, we will break this siege.”

She continued: “My father sacrificed his life defending this city. We, the children of the martyrs, will also rise and continue defending our city.”

Rahaf points out that mercenaries and enemies seek to put an end to the Kurdish presence, adding: “We have the achievements of our martyrs, and we will not abandon them. We will protect them with songs and authentic poetry that embody our Kurdish culture. We are here now, and we will break this siege with our songs, our struggle, and our resistance. We will rise together — youth, women, and elders. Just as they tried to destroy Kobani in 2014 and 2015, but thanks to my father and his comrades the city was liberated and did not fall into the hands of mercenaries, we will protect it today with the same spirit and the same resistance, and we will prevail.”
