Damascus government forces arrested 4 young men from the capital, Damascus, who had been subjected to “settlements,” without mentioning the reasons for the arrest.

Members of the Manket al-Hatab checkpoint of the Damascus government forces, north of Daraa, arrested 4 young men from the capital, Damascus, including a media activist, without knowing the charges against them, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

As a result of the arrest incident, security tension arose, and a local armed group surrounded the cultural center in the city of Inkhil, west of Daraa, where members of the Damascus government forces were stationed, demanding the release of the four detainees.

It is noteworthy that the four detainees were members of the local factions and those who implemented the “settlement system” in 2018.

The forces of the Damascus government and its security services continue to arbitrarily arrest citizens, and in this context, the SOHR has documented, since the beginning of this month, the arrest of 19 people, including two women, arbitrarily and under various circumstances.
