The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced today the purchase price of one ton of cotton from farmers at $600.

Cotton is dominating the summer cropping landscape in North and East Syria during the 2025 season, with a cultivated area of 250,000 dunams and an expected production of 75,000 tons, despite the climatic challenges and lack of rainfall that have affected the agricultural sector in the region.

Agricultural authorities are working to support farmers by providing essential materials such as diesel and fertilizers, in addition to calling for modernizing irrigation methods to rationalize water consumption. The crop is also received through designated centers, according to strict quality standards, with fair prices set to guarantee farmers' rights, in a move aimed at enhancing cotton production and its sustainability as a strategic crop that supports the local economy and provides extensive job opportunities.
