DAA joins Uganda’s independence celebrations

The Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria officially participated in the celebrations marking the 63rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uganda, through its representative to North Africa, Hikmat Ibrahim, who attended the ceremony held today.

Hikmat Ibrahim was received at the official guest platform alongside Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, as well as numerous heads of state, officials, and ambassadors from several countries.

The celebration witnessed a large public turnout estimated at around ten thousand attendees.

On the sidelines of this major national event, the representative of the Autonomous Administration, Hikmat Ibrahim, met with Ugandan Vice President Edward Ssekandi, the President’s representative, the Head of the Presidential Office, and several other officials. The meetings included discussions on enhancing bilateral relations and promoting mutual cooperation.

The DAA is also participating, upon an official invitation from the Government of Uganda, in the Arab and African Youth Council (AAYC) Conference held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, from 6–10 October.

The conference is held under the patronage of the President of Uganda, under the slogan: “Empowering Youth Voices for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity.”

The Arab and African Youth Council (AAYC) is an international youth organization founded on 9 March 2004 in Khartoum, Sudan, during a youth forum that brought together more than 3,000 young men and women from various Arab and African countries. The council includes active national and regional youth organizations working under the slogan: “Youth, Peace, Unity, and Development.”
