Commemoration ceremony for 29 fighters kicks off in Hasakah

The ceremony kicked off today in the city of Hasakah to commemorate 29 fighters from the People's Defense Forces (HPG) and the Free Women's Units–Star (YJA-STAR), who were martyred at different times and in different locations while serving in the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. Thousands of residents from the various communities of cities across the Jazira region attended the ceremony.

The ceremony opened with a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs. Speeches are scheduled to be delivered on behalf of the martyrs' families, the Kongra Star, and the Democratic Union Party (PYD), as well as by Ferhad Merdî and a representative of the Democratic Islam Congress.
