Clashes, infiltration attempts in Rural Sweida; National Guard responds

ANHA correspondent in Sweida reported that heavy clashes erupted along the Al-Majdal axis following multiple infiltration attempts by armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government. These incidents came after several ceasefire violations earlier in the day, which included drone attacks and heavy machine gun fire.

The correspondent explained that National Guard forces stationed in the area are repelling the infiltration attempts and returning fire toward the sources of attack, resulting in confirmed casualties among the infiltrating groups.

He added that the attacking armed groups are targeting Al-Majdal town with heavy and medium weapons, launching mortar shells and armed drones in an effort to pressure the front defense lines.

According to the correspondent, the National Guard has sent reinforcements to the defense points around the town, confirming that clashes are still ongoing, with the forces on full alert along the frontlines.

He also noted that the Interim Government forces, in support of the attacking groups, targeted the As-Suwayda–Tha‘lah road with mortar shells fired from their positions in Tal Hadeed, in western As-Suwayda countryside.
