The Command of the National Guard Forces in Sweida issued a statement today pointing to new breaches of the ceasefire agreement in Sweida, where the region witnessed repeated attacks by the Transitional Government Forces in Syria on villages and residential neighborhoods.

The statement described the ongoing assaults in Sweida and its countryside by the Transitional Government Forces as “a continuation of their extremist and systematic aggressive policy.”

According to the statement, “At exactly 17:30 this evening, the town of ‘Ara’ was targeted by attack drones, resulting in three injuries of varying severity.”

It added that “at exactly 18:30, the militias renewed their attack on the town of al-Majdal in the same sector with heavy machine-gun fire, coinciding with the targeting of one position by a drone, injuring one of the members.”

The statement noted that the deployed military units of the National Guard Forces responded to those violations with appropriate weapons.

The Command of the National Guard Forces affirmed that its units remain in a high state of combat and technical readiness, closely monitoring developments on the ground, and will not hesitate to deter any threat targeting the security and stability of the Mountain.
