The bells of Orthodox churches rang in the morning hours in the city of Hasaka, to celebrate Easter “Resurrection,” among Christian sects that follow the Eastern calendar.

The Christian sects went to the churches to commemorate their celebrations, through a mass organized in the Syriac Cathedral of St. George, and the rituals of the mass began with the performance of their own hymns, prayers, and supplications.

During their celebrations and masses on this day, Christians repeat the word “Christ is risen, truly is risen,” in reference to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop of Jazera and the Euphrates, Mar Maurice Amsih, pointed out during the mass celebration that: “This day was created by the Lord for us to celebrate.”

The celebrations and mass concluded with an exchange of congratulations between the Christian sects that follow the Eastern calendar.
