As part of the events and celebrations marking April 4, the birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, two celebrations were held in the Cantons of Tabqa and Deir ez-Zor.

Deir ez-Zor

The Women’s Protection Units held a celebration with the participation of residents, as well as civil and military institutions, in the courtyard of the YPJ Center in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

During the celebration, YPJ commander Arin Shaddadi gave a speech in which she said: “We brought down what was called the Caliphate, the one the whole world was afraid to even mention. Today, we are rebuilding our ranks and starting anew, inspired by our epics and heroism at the Tishrin Dam. The resistance of just one comrade proved that hope is still alive in the hearts of millions of comrades and fighters, who today stand against the Turkish occupation and its fascist attacks."

Arin Shaddadi affirmed: “We continue to follow the path and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, believing in the justice of our cause and the certainty of our victory.”

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets and the performance of traditional dabke dances.

Tabqa

The Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council in the Tabqa Canton organized a large public celebration marking the 77th birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The event was attended by members of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, its affiliated bodies, the Councils of Martyrs' Families from Tabqa, Afrin, and Shahba, democratic society organizations, civil councils, political parties, and hundreds of displaced people from Afrin and Shahba, along with residents of Tabqa.

The celebration began with a moment of silence, followed by a speech from council member Shahad Al-Ali, who said: “On this day, the sun of freedom rose, announcing the birth of a great leader who lit the way to freedom for the people and ignited a revolution against tyranny. His birth created a new future for our people, who, through him, discovered the meaning of living freely. The leader presented a future vision that achieved historical results through the foundation of the Democratic Nation project, the fruits of which are now tangible in North and East Syria.”

Then, member Najah Al-Hussein read a message from Leader Abdullah Ocalan sent to women on International Women’s Day. Following that, poets Salha Al-Shamali, Fatima Al-Shami, and Aisha Sheikh recited poems dedicated to Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the homeland in both Arabic and Kurdish.

The celebration continued with a dance performance by the Hilal Zerin troupe from Raqqa and concluded with traditional folkloric dabke dances.
