ANHA correspondents reported that the situation around Tishrin Dam today is marked by cautious calm after the intensive and systematic targeting by armed groups linked to the Syrian transitional government throughout yesterday.

Despite the relative calm, the area around the dam continues to experience intermittent shelling by these armed groups every few hours.

Yesterday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) confirmed in a statement that the armed groups affiliated with the Syrian transitional government used heavy weapons, including tanks and field artillery, targeting the dam structure and surrounding areas, posing a significant risk to vital infrastructure and civilian lives.

The SDF held the transitional government fully responsible for these attacks, emphasizing their forces’ right to legitimate defense of civilians and critical facilities.
