Calls to enhance societal awareness in confronting sedition, achieving peace

Citizens from the city of Derik expressed their commitment to the option of peace and building a democratic society based on coexistence among all segments of the community, with the aim of raising awareness to counter attempts to incite strife and destabilize the region.

Citizen Ali Haji Youssef confirmed that the community has the ability to protect itself from attempts at sedition and incitement, pointing out that societal awareness has significantly developed in facing the "special war" aimed at spreading confusion among the community's components.

He explained that a wide segment of the people in Rojava and other areas in Syria have come to recognize and distinguish between sedition and truth, adding that historical experiences, including those faced by the Armenian people and the policies targeting the Kurdish people, have contributed to raising awareness of the dangers of incitement policies.

He pointed out that the people of Rojava have developed themselves to be a model in facing these challenges, indicating that among the solutions to counter incitement are the calls for peace and a democratic society launched by leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Ali Haji Youssef called on the interim government in Syria to adopt open policies based on dialog and communication with all parties, warning against being drawn into sedition, and emphasizing that protecting Syria requires the solidarity of all its children.

For his part, the administrator in the Training Office of the Democratic Union Party, Shukri Muslim, affirmed that the peace process and the building of a democratic society in Syria remain an urgent necessity, but they require a radical change in the political mentality and systemic structure.

Shawkat Muslim pointed out that the continuation of war and conflicts hinders the achievement of peace and weakens the chances of integrating democracy, explaining that society cannot absorb the requirements of the stage without raising public awareness, emphasizing that democratic transformations must be gradual and realistic with a focus on enhancing citizen participation.
