British Special Envoy to Syria meets with Foreign Relations Department

The Department of Foreign Relations of the Democratic Autonomous Administration discussed with the British Special Envoy to Syria the importance of the role of North and East Syria and the Democratic Autonomous Administration in shaping the future of Syria, after many years during which it faced great challenges and unprecedented difficulties.

The co-chairs of the Foreign Relations Department, Ilham Ahmed and Fanar Al-Kait, received a high-level British delegation yesterday, February 25, headed by Anne Snow, the British Special Envoy to Syria.

Meeting was held in the presence of members from both sides, during which they stressed the urgent need to enhance dialogue and understanding between all parties, leading to addressing and resolving the Syrian issues.

The meeting focused on the importance of the role of North and East Syria and the Democratic Autonomous Administration in shaping the future of the country, after many years during which it faced great challenges and unprecedented difficulties.

The two sides also stressed the need for all Syrians and the  administration in Damascus to benefit from the experiences and expertise available in NE Syria.

While the two sides concluded on the importance and necessity of opening a real negotiating table through which priorities and timetables are determined, to be implemented on the ground.

Ilham Ahmed stressed the necessity of not marginalizing any of the Syrian components in building a real partnership within the future Syria.
