Besi Hozat supports Alawites, affirms solution in Syria requires decentralized, democratic system 

Besi Hozat, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union, spoke on a special program on Medya Haber TV, commemorating the 47th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) (National Resistance Day).

Hozat condemned the mentality and criminal practices targeting the Alawi community, emphasizing their experiencing difficult circumstances, persecution, lack of organization and protection, and vulnerability to massacres and trauma.

She called on everyone to support the Alawis and stand by them.

Hozat acknowledged existing sympathy and support for the Alawis, but stressed the need for this support to be intensified, and that the Alawis' demands are legitimate, foremost among them is the autonomous administration, a decentralized system, and a democratic Syria that protects their rights and freedoms. She stated that these are all legitimate demands, and that everyone is taking to the streets to demand a democratic Syria.

She emphasized that Syria cannot truly be liberated from this civil war except in this way; unless Syria becomes democratic, and unless a democratic Syrian republic is established and developed based on regions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, self-governance, and a decentralized system, it will not be free from this war and these massacres, nor from the dangers and threats. The solution lies here; all powers concerned with Syria must take the demands of the Alawites, Druze, and Kurds seriously and deal with the Syrian reality correctly.

She affirmed that the solution lies in the demands of the people, the fundamental demand of the Alawites, as well as the Druze, Kurds, and other identities living in Syria, which is a democratic Syrian republic based on a model of democratic self-administration, self-governance, and decentralization.

The real solution lies here; in a democratic constitution that recognizes all identities. On this basis, I reiterate my strong condemnation of these criminal acts and practices, and I call for everyone to stand by the Alawites and support their struggle, and the struggle of all other peoples in Syria.
