Autonomous Administration representative meets Uganda’s Vice President

Hikmat Ibrahim, the representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in North Africa, is participating, upon official invitation from the Ugandan government, in the Arab and African Youth Council Conference held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, coinciding with Uganda’s Independence Day celebrations.

On the sidelines of the conference, Hikmat Ibrahim met with Uganda’s Vice President, Edward Ssekandi, and the two discussed the general developments in Syria and the wider region.

During the meeting, Ibrahim highlighted the efforts of the Autonomous Administration to build a democratic model in Syria based on the participation of all Syrians, free from exclusion and marginalization that the Syrian people have long suffered.

The two sides also addressed the role of youth in nation-building and in promoting unity and prosperity. The Arab and African Youth Conference is being held under the slogan “Amplifying Youth Voices for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity.”

The conference is sponsored by the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Youth and Children Affairs. It runs from October 6 to 10, with the participation of more than 1,500 young men and women from various Arab and African countries, in addition to 2,000 Ugandan youth participants.
