A group of people in Latakia attacked the property of Alawite residents and assaulted citizens in the streets, while a demonstration in Banias raised slogans calling for murder and inciting sectarian strife.

New videos have circulated on social media documenting attacks by a group of people on the property of Alawite residents in Latakia, while demonstrations took place in Banias, in the Tartus countryside, raising sectarian slogans that explicitly call for murder and incitement against Alawites.

Social media users shared a video showing a group of people attacking the homes and shops of Alawite residents in the al-Zain neighborhood of Latakia. They vandalized cars and shops and assaulted passersby.

In addition, dozens of people demonstrated in Banias, in the Tartus countryside, chanting sectarian slogans calling for violence and inciting sectarian strife. They also raised the banners of Tawhid (monotheism) belonging to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, raising concerns among the Alawite community about the possibility of a return to the violence and massacres that occurred last March.
