Alouk water supply to Hasaka halted for the third day

A rupture in the main pipeline of the Alouk station, near the Serêkaniyê camp, has halted water pumping to the city of Hasaka for over three days, while maintenance teams continue their repair work.

Adnan Khaled, an administrator at the Al-Aziziyah station, stated that maintenance teams are working to fix the rupture and expect to finish by 1:00 PM. This will pave the way for the official resumption of water pumping to the city's neighborhoods following a trial pumping phase.

Despite the announcement that the Alouk station has reopened, numerous ruptures persist in the station's main pipelines—both inside and outside Hasaka—preventing water from reaching residents.

Repairs to all ruptures and faults in the water network were supposed to be completed before restarting the station; however, the ongoing issues have prevented water from reaching many neighborhoods, even during the trial pumping period.

The widespread ruptures in the network have raised questions among residents regarding the decision to officially open the station before maintenance work was fully completed and water delivery to all areas was guaranteed.

Residents of Hasaka are awaiting the completion of repairs and the resumption of water pumping, hoping that the ongoing maintenance will restore service to neighborhoods that have been without water for several days.
