The Secretary-General of the Syrian National Democratic Alliance Party, Ahmad al-Araj, described the recent escalation by the Turkish occupying state against the regions of North and East Syria as unsurprising. He said, "This is not the first time Erdogan has resorted to attacking Syrian territory since the beginning of the crisis until now, whether through his military arsenal or by using mercenaries."
Ahmed al-Araj pointed out that "Erdogan always resorts to flimsy excuses to violate the sovereignty of Syrian territories and occupy more land."
Al-Araj explained: "The past days have been bad after the targeting of vital facilities and infrastructure. Russia and the United States are the two countries that bear full responsibility for the recent attacks. If it weren't for the approvals and guarantees Turkey received, this aggression would not have occurred. In fact, this aggression is a stain on the forehead of humanity."
The responsibility for the attacks lies with the Astana Axis countries and Damascus.
Al-Araj held the responsibility for the attacks on the countries allied with Turkey, specifically mentioning the "Astana Axis" countries, which he said legitimize the crimes committed by Turkey against the Syrian people. Al-Araj also held the Damascus government partially responsible.
Al-Araj said: "Considering that Damascus has a political address in the United Nations and international forums, it must also bear its responsibility at least, especially in the file of diplomatic mobilization against the Turkish aggression, as well as the Israeli aggression linked to the ongoing conflict between the latter, Iran, and Hezbollah."
"Syria's sovereignty is violated"
Regarding the Israeli attacks on Syria, Al-Araj clarified that the Syrian people are paying the price for the conflict between the powers trying to settle their scores at the expense of the Syrian people, referring to (Iran and Hezbollah present in one way or another in Syria).
Al-Araj believes that Syrian sovereignty and airspace are "violated," and he called on the Damascus government to hold an urgent Syrian conference to unify the internal front and national stance, describing it as "everyone's responsibility."
Dialogue is a solution to bridge the "gaps of weakness."
Ahmed al-Araj called for holding a conference under the name "Syrian National Dialogue Rescue Conference" to unify ranks and agree on the country's sovereign borders, as he put it.
Ahmed al-Araj urged all Syrian parties to sit at the dialogue table and manage the current phase, while at the same time calling on the Damascus government to take the same steps to avoid the danger threatening Syria.
He also urged all Syrians to prevent some parties from exploiting what he called "points of weakness" amid the changes happening on the maps, and emphasized that Syria's restoration of its strength would be through its people and by adopting a unified national stance against external threats.
