Afrin refugees refuse return until Turkey leaves 

Displaced people from Afrin, now living in Aleppo, refuse to return to their areas until the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries fully withdraw from Afrin, emphasizing that any return is impossible as long as the occupation persists. 

Ibrahim Horo, one of the displaced, explained that forced displacement occurred twice: first with the occupation of Afrin, and second with the occupation of Shahba, pushing them to scatter across NE Syria and Aleppo. He noted that the displaced faced violations and harassment during their displacement. 

For his part, displaced person Ibrahim Khalil stressed that the Turkish occupation still maintains its military bases and commits crimes against residents without accountability, necessitating urgent international action to find radical solutions that restore usurped rights. 

In turn, Abdo Bairam Hussein emphasized that the displaced have been resisting for years to return, but this right has not yet been realized, demanding that relevant parties fulfill their promises through practical steps to ensure the return of the displaced to their homes. 

The displaced also affirmed that rejecting the Turkish occupation must be a clear stance from the Damascus authority, which should manage the country’s affairs free from foreign interference, warning that the continuation of the occupation will keep the crisis ongoing without real solutions.
