Activist warns of escalating violence against prisoners in Tehran's Evin Prison

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, known for her advocacy for the rights of political prisoners, posted information on her Telegram account about the conditions of prisoners in Evin Prison after the Israeli attack, according to JIN NEWS.

Shirin Ebadi explained that, following the Israeli attack on Evin Prison, Iranian authorities began torturing and humiliating political prisoners. Hundreds were arrested by prison guards, subjected to violence, and then transferred to Azim Prison under inhumane conditions.

Ebadi added, "During the Israeli attack on Evin Prison, hundreds of prison guards attacked the prisoners, subjecting them to severe violence and torture. They were then transferred to a prison in Tehran, under difficult medical conditions."

It is worth noting that Evin Prison is one of the largest prisons in Iran, specifically designated for political prisoners. It is located in the Shahrak-e Chamran area north of Tehran. The Israeli attack on Evin Prison took place on June 24, after which many prisoners were transferred to another prison in Tehran.
