Activist warns of Bakhshan Azizi’s critical condition: "Just 2 steps from gallows"

In a post on the social media platform Instagram, political prisoner Sayeh Seydal warned that activist and detainee Bakhshan Azizi, imprisoned for over six months, has been subjected to “systematic psychological, spiritual, and physical assaults.” She added, “She is just two steps away from the gallows.”

Sayeh Seydal emphasized that the time for silence and pleasantries is over, calling for “exposing the truth and immediate action from human rights organizations before another tragedy unfolds,” describing it as “a humanitarian duty that cannot be delayed.”

Qarchak Prison is known as one of the harshest prisons in Iran, where female political prisoners and activists face tragic conditions including medical neglect, abuse, physical and psychological torture, and systematic violations of human rights.

It is worth noting that Sayeh Seydal, also known as Mahvash Seydal, holds a PhD in international law and is considered one of the most prominent human rights voices from within Iranian prisons. She uses her academic background to document violations and demand accountability for those responsible, especially in Evin and Qarchak prisons, at the international level.
