Academics, researchers discuss thought of Leader Ocalan in Beirut

A panel discussion held in Beirut examined the content of the book “Post-Nationalism and Modernity” by Egyptian scholar Dr. Taha Ali Ahmed, focusing on the philosophical and political approach of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the challenges facing the implementation of his ideas in practice.

The event was organized yesterday by the Cultural Association of Democratic Peoples in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, at the association’s headquarters, with the participation of a group of academics, researchers, and critics.

The session was moderated by Dr. Raed al-Masri, Professor of Political Science and International Relations from Lebanon, alongside Dr. Ibrahim Shaker, a political science researcher at the University of Paris, and Dr. Huda Rizk, a university researcher specializing in international diplomatic relations and Turkish affairs.

In his intervention, Dr. Taha Ali Ahmed outlined the main themes of his book, highlighting the philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan through his reading and analysis of Leader Ocalan’s volumes.

Dr. Ibrahim Shaker presented a critical perspective on Leader Ocalan’s ideas and philosophy, noting the challenges and obstacles to their implementation on the ground despite their realism and the practical solutions they offer.

For her part, Dr. Huda Rizk addressed the paradigm adopted by Leader Abdullah Ocalan, discussing the practical models taking shape today in North and East Syria and the role of Jineology (the science of women) in consolidating them.

The session also witnessed extensive discussions among attendees, which led to valuable questions and answers around the three main themes, in addition to contributions that enriched the dialogue and identified possible steps toward achieving the proposed objectives.
