Abductee's mothers in Sweida demand their sons' fate disclosure, immediate release

Dozens of women of displaced villagers in the western countryside of Sweida participated on Wednesday in a solidarity vigil demanding information on the fate of those abducted and forcibly disappeared since the July 2025 attacks. 

In a statement to ANHA agency, one of the participants said, "We demand the release of Hussam al-Younes. He is a civilian and unarmed; he was detained upon his return from Lebanon, and he is known for helping people and providing humanitarian aid."

The mother of the abducted Rawad Hani Jammoul pleaded, "We demand information on the fate of our sons and their release. The children need their fathers, and we still don't know where they are."

The mother of the abducted Ahmed Salim Muzher said, "My son is a civilian and was arrested without cause. I appeal to all international and humanitarian organizations to intervene for his release and the release of the other detainees."

The participants called for bearing the legal and humanitarian responsibilities, and working to resolve the issue of enforced disappearances and reveal the fate of all the missing.
