9 killed in Syria over past 24 hours

Nine people were killed across various parts of Syria over the past 24 hours—victims of criminal acts, landmine explosions, armed attacks, and stray gunfire—highlighting the country's persistent security challenges and the multiple sources of danger.

ANHA agency has documented the deaths of nine people in Syria since yesterday, Wednesday; the causes of death ranged from criminal acts and landmine explosions to stray gunfire and armed attacks.

Criminal acts accounted for the highest number of casualties, with three people killed in separate incidents in the governorates of Rif Dimashq and Al-Hasakah.

Additionally, two members of the Syrian Ministry of Defense were killed by landmine explosions while carrying out mine-disposal operations in Damascus and the Homs countryside.

In separate incidents, two individuals lost their lives due to stray gunfire and the mishandling of weapons—one in Swaida and the other in the city of Homs.

Another person was killed in Homs city by gunfire from unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle.

In the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, one person was killed in an armed attack involving direct gunfire carried out by unidentified gunmen in the town of Al-Baghouz.
