79 people involved in destabilizing security in Deir ez-Zor arrested

Today, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in the NE Syria issued a statement to public opinion regarding the joint security campaign of its forces in Deir ez-Zor, which stated:

“As part of our continuing efforts to establish security and stability in our regions and based on our national responsibility towards our people and the sacrifices of our martyrs, our joint forces from the Internal Security Forces with all its divisions and the Syrian Democratic Forces, in cooperation with the coalition forces, carried out a large-scale security campaign in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, 15 days of which have passed and are still ongoing.”

The campaign aimed to pursue the remnants of the defunct Syrian regime and eliminate the cells of the terrorist ISIS organization, which were and are still trying to tamper with the security and stability of the region by inciting riots and strife and killing innocent people.

The operations resulted in the arrest of 79 individuals involved in destabilizing security, and the seizure of large quantities of weapons and ammunition in their possession, as follows:

8 pistol

55 Kalashnikov rifles, 7,500 bullets, and 161 magazines

4 BKC rifles and 3064 bullets

6 Brno rifles

11 hunting rifles

8 hand grenades

21 military quivers

SLR rifle

Laptop

2 surveillance cameras + DVR

3 guided homemade explosive devices

2 ejector gaskets

This campaign came in response to the calls of our people in the region, who affirmed their rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, and their adherence to civil peace, brotherhood, and coexistence.

We assure our dear people that these efforts are part of our firm vision to build a safe and stable society, based on the foundations of justice and tolerance.

We in the Internal Security Forces renew our pledge to continue the path charted by our martyrs with their pure blood and sacrifices. We pledge to our people that we will spare no effort in protecting our national gains and ensuring an environment of security and peace for all, and that our response to any threat to peace and security will be violent.
