The We Will Stop Femicide Platform (KCDP) issued its report last May, revealing the killing of 40 women by men in Turkey, as reported by the Women’s News Agency (NUJINHA).

According to the report issued by the We Will Stop the Killing of Women platform, 40 women were killed in Turkey during the month of May, including 14 women who were killed because they made decisions about their lives, such as wanting a divorce or refusing to marry, while two were killed under the pretext of their mother issuing a judicial order against the father, and one was killed while trying to protect her daughter, three were killed with economic excuses.

It was not possible to know the pretext behind which 20 other women were killed.

The platform’s report pointed out that out of 40 women, 25 of them were killed at home, 6 in the street, 2 in the car, 2 in an abandoned place, and 2 in the workplace, while the platform was not able to determine the killing of the other three women, indicating that most of the women who they were killed last month using a firearm.

It pointed out that 15 women were killed by their husbands, 6 of them by their fathers, 4 of them by those they were associated with, 4 of them were killed by one of their acquaintances, 3 by their relatives, two were killed by ex-husbands, and two were killed by two people who separated. On their behalf, one by her brother, one by her son, one by someone she doesn’t know, and one by an unknown person.
