32nd anniversary of mother Awesh commemorated

Mothers of martyrs and Mothers for Peace in the Tabqa Canton marked the 32nd anniversary of the death of Mother Awesh, mother of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who passed away on April 11, 1993. The commemoration took place in a gathering held at the Martyrs’ Families Council Park in Tabqa.

The ceremony was attended by several mothers of martyrs, Mothers for Peace, and members of the Women’s Internal Security Forces. It began with a prayer for the soul of the late Mother Awesh, followed by a statement delivered on behalf of the Mothers of Martyrs and Mothers for Peace, read by Faten Al-Sheikh Nasser, a member of the Martyrs’ Families Council.

The statement said: “A mother is a school, if you prepare her well, you prepare a noble nation. Among such mothers was Mother Awesh, who gave humanity its greatest gift, the liberator of peoples from oppression and tyranny, Leader Abdullah Ocalan, with his ideas and philosophy.”

The statement emphasized that Mother Awesh was a model of a steadfast, struggling mother who endured displacement, oppression, and deprivation, and stood firm in the face of political and social challenges, becoming a source of inspiration in the peoples’ struggle for freedom and democracy.

It also highlighted her deep belief in the path of justice and liberation and her significant role in supporting a comprehensive struggle movement.

At the end of the ceremony, attendees paid tribute to all the mothers of martyrs who lost their sons and daughters in the pursuit of peace and justice.
