The media center of the Women's Protection Units issued a written statement revealing that the units carried out a special operation targeting a Turkish occupation base in the village of Yashli in the northwestern countryside of Manbij on September 10th in memory of the martyr and leader, Sharvin Sardar.

The statement read:

"Carrying out a special operation in memory of the martyr Sharvin Sardar

Our units, the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), carried out a special operation on the resistance frontlines in Manbij.

On September 10th, our fighters targeted a Turkish occupation army base in the village of Yashli, located in the northwestern countryside of Manbij.

The Turkish occupation bombards the countryside and villages of Manbij daily from this base, endangering the lives of our people. The Turkish occupation state also attempts to direct its mercenaries from this base to expand its occupation. Our fighters in the Women's Protection Units carried out a special operation targeting this base, resulting in the complete destruction of the Yashli base radar, the killing of 3 Turkish occupation soldiers, and the wounding of 4 others.

This operation was conducted in memory of the martyr and leader in Manbij, Sharvin Sardar.

We, in the Women's Protection Units, affirm that we will continue these operations in response to the attacks on our people, especially women."

Sharvin Sardar, a member of the Military Council of the Women's Protection Units and a leader in the Manbij Military Council, along with fighters Nujan Ocalan and Janda Jodi, ascended to martyrdom in a Turkish occupation drone strike on a council vehicle on the al-Hattabat road in the southern countryside of Manbij city on September 15, 2023.
