3-day sit-in at Girzero station ended with renewal of resistance era

For the third day in a row, hundreds of residents of the city of Derik and its villages in Jazera Canton continued their sit-in at the Girzero oil station, denouncing the Turkish occupation army’s air attacks on vital and service facilities, including the Girzero station, which has witnessed a sit-in since the first of this January.

The Turkish occupation state has escalated its attacks on the NE Syria region since the 23rd of last December, targeting vital, service and infrastructure facilities, in addition to economic facilities and security barriers, resulting in the martyrdom of 10 people and the injury of dozens, not to mention the deprivation of 89,418 students from education, causing significant material damage to property.

The banners that were hung in the designated tent within the station expressed the extent of the popular anger among the people of the NE Syria region over these attacks, as well as the positions of the international powers, as it was written on them, “We are advocates of peace and freedom, not advocates of war, destruction, and the killing of innocents,” “Bomb... Destroy.. Kill, you barbarian, We will remain and you will die in vain.” “The international silence on the Turkish fascist attacks on NE Syria indicates their complicity in the crime.” “Whoever deprives people of the necessities of life is a war criminal and against humanity.”

Today, on their third day at Girzero station, the protesters ended their sit-in with a statement read in the name of the popular initiative by the administrator at Kongra Star in Derik, Fatima Haji.

The statement confirmed that the Turkish occupation state seeks to destroy the project of the democratic nation under which the people of NE Syria coexist, and that Turkey is committing war crimes.

And noted the importance of self-protection based on the concept of the revolutionary people's war, to ward off Turkish attacks on the region, their insistence on staying and defending their regions, and renewing the pledge to continue the construction process.
