200 students affected by Turkish attacks

The Turkish attacks on NE Syria on January 13, caused significant damage to oil and electricity stations and the gas plant, and among the affected sectors was the education sector, specifically students at the College of Petroleum and Petrochemistry.

In an interview with ANHA agency, the Vice President of the Joint Presidency of Rojava University, Farhan Hassan revealed that targeting the oil stations and the gas plant, especially the Suwaydiya station, which was completely out of service, caused great harm to the students, and said: “The Turkish attacks will negatively affect the practical exams and students subjects during the next semester.”

Hassan indicated that they are trying to continue university studies in these emergency circumstances, and are trying to overcome the current difficulties and obstacles, such as providing water, electricity, and gas for student housing.

On the 15th of this January, while the students of the same college were taking their exams, the Turkish occupation state attacked the oil well maintenance and repair depots and the power station in the town of Rumailan.

The college administration immediately postponed and work in the college was suspended from the 16th to the 18th of January.
