Zarghan Council: Afrin will liberate with resistance, steadfastness of our people

January 20 marks the sixth anniversary of the start of the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on Afrin, coinciding with the attack by ISIS mercenary cells on the Al-Sinaa prison in the city of Hasaka.

Today, the Zarghan District Council made a statement, which was read by the co-chair of the council, Asmaa Salli, in front of the Democratic Union Party office in the center of the district, in the presence of members of civil society institutions, the security forces and the people of the district.

The statement affirmed, "What the Turkish occupation state did in Afrin is a flagrant violation of the rights of various humanitarian laws and international laws, as it deliberately cut down trees, as well as occupying people's homes. From day one, it began a policy of Turkification and removing symbols belonging to the people of the region, and it also bombs the infrastructure of NE Syria under the sight of the whole world.”

The statement added, "The plan to attack Al-Sina'a prison was a major conspiracy in which several forces participated in a desperate attempt to release thousands of terrorists."

The statement stressed, "We will not retreat from our goals. With our resistance, the steadfastness of our forces, and the will of our people, we will continue on the path just as we foiled the Al-Sina'a prison plan and Turkey's continued attacks, we will overcome this ordeal and Afrin will defeat with the will of our people."
