A video showing two fighters from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) being abducted by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government has sparked widespread public outrage.

Activists, intellectuals, and women's movements condemned the abduction, demanding the immediate release of them and accountability for those responsible.

The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows two YPJ fighters, identified as Amara Intiqam and Narin Akhin, who were abducted in the Deir ez-Zor region by the Turkish-backed mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government.

Another video has also posted by one of the mercenaries involved in the abduction, in which he says, "I brought you two gifts, Abo Mujahed," a statement that has drawn widespread condemnation. Activists consider this statement evidence of the grave violations and disregard for women's dignity, further fueling public anger and calls for their immediate release.
