2 Kurdish women detained in Urmia, their fate remains unknown

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that security forces affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps detained two Kurdish women in Urmia without any judicial warrants, while official authorities have so far refused to disclose information about their fate, according to the Women’s News Agency (NUJINHA).

The network said that Befrin Ahmedwish, a young woman from the village of Kitchli, was arrested during a raid on her relatives’ homes and taken to an unknown location, despite her family’s ongoing efforts to obtain information about her whereabouts. Reports indicate that the village had been placed under a security cordon days earlier, during which three people, Aywiz Bahenmun, Shaban Ahmedwish and Ibrahim Ahmedwish, were arrested.

In a relevant cotext, the fate of 33-year-old Perwin Raziq, a resident of Maku, remains unclear, despite 50 days having passed since her arrest by the intelligence service of Iranian Revolutionary Guard without a judicial warrant. Her family says they have received no information from official institutions regarding her place of detention or legal status.
