18 people killed in separate incidents across Syria

Eighteen people were killed under various circumstances in Syria over the past 24 hours, including two who died in landmine explosions left over from the war, while others were killed by unidentified gunmen.

The total number of Syrians killed in the past 24 hours reached 18, due to various incidents such as kidnappings, sniping, and both civilian and military clashes. At least one person was killed during a family dispute in the town of Granij, east of Deir ez-Zor, while another was shot dead by an unknown assailant in the town of Sheikh Miskin in the countryside of Daraa.

Additionally, the body of a young man was found in Homs after he had been kidnapped under mysterious circumstances by unknown gunmen about a week ago. In the village of Basira al-Jurd, part of the Safita district in the Tartous countryside, residents discovered the bodies of a married couple with gunshot wounds.

Elsewhere, a young man was killed when a landmine left over from the war exploded while he was searching for truffles in the southern desert of Deir ez-Zor. Meanwhile, two other individuals were killed by shrapnel from a second landmine explosion in the Jabal al-Amour area of the eastern Homs countryside.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a member of the Military Operations Administration under the Damascus government was killed several days after being struck by stray gunfire in the Mazzeh district of the capital, Damascus. Additionally, nine mercenaries from the Sham Legion and the Military Police, both affiliated with the Turkish occupation state, were killed during violent clashes between the two groups in the occupied city of Tal Abyad due to disputes over control of border crossings.
