Protests in Europe against Turkey's NE Syria attaks

Today, hundreds of the Kurdish community in Austria, and dozens of Austrian activists and politicians, expressed solidarity with the people of NE Syria,denouncing the Turkish attacks on NE Syria.

Participants in the protests carried the flags of the Democratic Society Movement, the flags of the People's Protection Units and the Women's Protection Units, and pictures of victims of Turkish crimes, as well as banners bearing phrases demanding the imposition of a no-fly zone on the regions of NE Syria.

The protest witnessed the distribution of leaflets that included the crimes committed by Turkey in its recent attacks on NE Syria, as well as its policies against the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The protest was organized in the city of Innsbruck, at the initiative of the Kurdish Democratic Society Center, in front of the Austrian state parliament of Tyrol.

After observing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, the member of the Democratic Society Center in the city of Innsbruck, Ibu Wan who stressed the importance of events and activities in Europe to shed light on the crimes committed by Turkey against the people in NE Syria.

Meanwhile, Nora Ahmed, the member of the Defend Rojava Platform, highlighted the international inaction regarding Turkey’s attacks on NE Syria, and the international powers, including Austria, adopting a policy of double standards, and their duplicity in approaching humanitarian standards and international laws.

In the Austrian city of Bregenz, representatives of the Freedom Party in Austria (FPO) stood in solidarity with the protest event organized by the Kurds in Leutbûhel Square in the city, in which hundreds of members of the Kurdish community and a number of their Austrian friends participated.

Murad Munther, the member of the Kurdish Democratic Community Center in the Austrian city of Bregenz, spoke, as well as the member of the Martyrs' Families Council, Kuleh Tami.

In which the speakers recounted a series of crimes of the Turkish occupation state against the Kurdistan people, focusing on the crimes committed against the people in NE Syria, which were committed recently during this October, including the bombing of infrastructure, vital facilities, and security forces.

They called on the Kurdistan people in Europe and their friends to escalate activities to put political and media pressure on international forces and organizations to assume their responsibilities on the Turkish crimes.

Since October 4, AANES has witnessed an escalation of the Turkish occupation state, targeting infrastructure and vital facilities, which led to the martyrdom of 47 people, the injury of 59 others.
