Muhammad was burned by white phosphorus on the third day of the attack by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on Serêkaniyê.

Four years after the injury of the child Muhammad, who currently lives with his family in the Serêkaniyê camp for displaced people in the city of Hasaka, the Turkish occupation state has not been held accountable for the crimes committed against them, according to Muhammad’s family.

During ANHA agency’s interview with the child, Muhammad Hamid, who has now reached the age of 15: “Until now, when I look at my wounds, I remember the tragedy, I still remember those screams and pain that I was living with during those days. My only demand is that holding Turkey accountable for the crimes it committed against us, and my request from the United Nations is to respond to the lawsuit we filed against Turkey.”

For his part, his father, Hamid Muhammad said: “In the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the city of Serêkaniyê, Muhammad, who was in front of the house was targeted. We were preparing to leave the city, and we only heard the sounds of bombing, and I only saw Muhammad.” He was lying on the ground, so I rushed to help him to the city of Tal Tamr.”

He added, "Then we worked to transport Muhammad from Rojava towards Başûr Kurdistan, so that he could be travelled to France, and there we confirmed that Muhammad had been targeted with white phosphorus."

Regarding the lawsuit and its findings, he said: “A year ago, we filed a lawsuit with the United Nations against the Turkish occupation regarding its use of internationally prohibited weapons and the targeting of my son Muhammad with white phosphorus, but until now we have not received any response."

He ended his speech by saying: " 4 years after our displacement and to this day, our regions are still subject to attacks, and our call to the United Nations is to stop the attacks, return us to our homes, and hold the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries accountable for their crimes."

In January 2020, the Wesling Research Institute, based in Switzerland, documented that the Turkish occupation state used white phosphorus in NE Syria. The Institute studied samples of the skin of a fighter within the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

During 1983, the United Nations banned the use of phosphorous bombs and napalm in civilian areas, and classified them as war crimes.
