Up to 700 citizens  arrested by Iranian state

The cities of Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) and Iran witnessed protests on the first anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (Women, Life, Freedom) uprising and the killing of Gina Amini at the hands of the so-called “moral police” on September 16, 2022.

The Iranian authorities attacked protesters in the cities of Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, especially in Saqqez, Sunnah, Urmia, Tehran, Baluchestan and Sistan, and arrested at least 700 people, and the families of the detainees who wanted to reach them were not informed.

The Iranian security forces, which did not provide any information to the families of the detainees who submitted a request to the Assistance Unit police station in Tehran, also attacked the families of the detainees, and many of them were injured during the attack.

The agency also reported that among the people who were arrested during the protests were athlete Parisa Mohammadi and Kurdish activist Galavij Tahmasebi, and it is not yet known where they were taken.
