Call for general strike on occasion of first anniversary of Jin, Jiyan, Azadî uprising

The call to strike came during a written statement, issued by 6 parties and political parties in Rojhalat.

the statement read:

“On September 16, 2022, the young Kurdish woman, Gina, from the city of Saqqez, lost her life in Tehran by the Iranian regime’s oppressive and tyrannical forces. Her name written on her gravestone, “Jina,” became a symbol of the comprehensive popular uprising that launched in Kurdistan under the slogan Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman's Life, Freedom), which soon spread to all cities and regions of Iran and outside it as well, and was known as the "Gina Revolution" and the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" Revolution.

The revolution is the largest, longest, and most comprehensive uprising that sought to hold the Islamic Republic regime accountable and take steps to overthrow the authoritarian regime. During the revolution last year, the Iranian People’s Freedom Movement and the Kurdistan people fought against the ruling regime in Iran.

On the first anniversary of the launch of the Gina Revolution, we move strongly to welcome this great political and social occasion to remember the male and female martyrs of that new revolution, commemorate all the martyrs, and pay tribute of respect to the political prisoners, who contributed to the revival of this political movement, and for this, after several decades political meetings, the following political parties agreed on a number of demands:

Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party (HDKÎ).

Association (Kurdistan Organization of the Communist Party of Iran).

Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK).

Iranian Kurdistan Action Organization (Sazimanî Xebat).

Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK).

Kurdistan Toilers Association.

1- Supporting the demands of civil society activists and independent organizations to commemorate the anniversary of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî Revolution and actively participate in it.

2-Announcing a general strike throughout Kurdistan on 06-25-1402 (09-16-2023), closing all shops, markets, administrative centers and work centers, and calling on the people of Kurdistan to visit the shrine of Gina Amini and all the martyrs of the revolution on the morning of that day, placing wreaths on their shrines and organizing a memorial ceremony for them.

3- Calling on the free Iranian people (women, youth, workers, teachers, retirees, environmental activists and oppressed nationalities) throughout Iran to support the strike of the people of Kurdistan and show solidarity with them.

4-Calling on all activists outside the country to provide full support for the general strike on the anniversary of the revolution, and to organize massive marches and demonstrations on the same day to draw the attention of all human societies in the world to support the Gina Revolution.

5-All Kurdistan political parties and parties participating in these meetings announce their support and participation in the general strike on 06-25-1402 (09-16-2023) and holding memorial ceremonies at the shrines of the martyrs.
