Childhood Coordination condemns Turkish attacks on NE Syria's children

This came during a statement made today by the Coordinator of Childhood Activities in Jazera region, denouncing the Turkish occupation attack on the countryside of the city of Manbij, which caused the martyrdom of 4 children, in conjunction with the International Peace Day (September 1).

The statement was read in both Arabic by the administrator of the Child Protection Office of the Women's Authority in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazera region, Nodem Shro, and in the Kurdish by the administrator of the Sterk Association for the Follow-up of Child Rights in NE Syria, Julia Khalo, in front of the office of the Women's Authority in Qamishlo.

Dozens of members and administrators of the Human Rights Organization, the Women's Commission, the Social Justice Council, the Health Body in Jazera region, the Sterk Association for the Follow-up of Child Rights in NE Syria, and the Schlier Committee.

The statement began by referring to the crimes of the Turkish occupation in the occupied areas, including "killing, kidnapping, and sexual violence against civilians in general, and children in particular by armed groups affiliated with Turkey," noting the Turkish occupation's targeting of "unarmed civilians, including children in areas of Autonomous Administration.

The statement continued: "On the International Day of Peace, the Turkish state once again disregarded international covenants, treaties and laws, as the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army launched on Friday morning, 9/1/2023, an attack on the village of Al-Muhsinli located in the northwestern countryside of Manbij led to  martyrdom 4 children.

On Saturday (September 2), the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation launched an attack on the northern countryside of Manbij, which resulted in the martyrdom of a number of citizens, including women, and the wounding of others.

 A group of mercenaries attacked a citizen's house in al-Mahamid farm, the attack led to killing a woman and  a wife one of her sons, they also kidnapped two brothers from the family.

The statement indicated that: "Since the announcement of the Autonomous Administration, our regions have been subjected to fierce attacks targeting the components of the people of the region amidst international silence.

The Coordinator of Childhood called on international forces and international human rights organizations be the voice of truth and humanity, and hear the cries of children and the groans of mothers and working for ending the child killing machine.”
