SDF's security operation continues.. Turkish occupation escalates its attacks on NE Syria

As soon as the Syrian Democratic Forces launched the Security Enforcement operation in Deir ez-Zor, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenary groups escalated their attacks on various fronts in NE Syria.

In Tal Tamr, clashes continue between the forces of the Tal Tamr Military Council and the mercenary groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation army in 3 villages in the western countryside, at a time different areas in NE Syria are subjected to similar attacks by the mercenaries who committed a massacre claimed the lives of several citizens, including children in the western countryside of Manbij.

Clashes erupted this morning, when the mercenary groups launched an artillery attack on the villages of Taweelah, Tal Taweel, and Al-Khamseen in the western countryside of Tal Tamr district in Hasaka canton.

In parallel with the attack on Tal Tamr, the district of Ain Issa was subjected to a violent attack today, but the forces of the Tal Abyad Military Council thwarted the attack, causing deaths and injuries among the occupiers.

On Saturday, the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on the northwestern countryside of Manbij. However the attake was thwarted by the Manbij Military Council forces, the attack resulted in martyrdom of civilians, including women, and injury of others.

Sources told ANHA reporter that the mercenaries raided the house of the citizen Muhammad Ibrahim al-Hajj Abdullah in al-Mahamid Farm and they stabbed an elderly woman named Fatima al-Hajj Muhammad al-Khalif in her seventh decade, which led to her martyrdom and the wife of one of her sons, while the mercenaries kidnapped two brothers from the family, namely Haj Abdullah and his brother Ahmed before to flee from the area.

Since last Friday, 5 citizens have martyred and 4 others injured as a result of the attacks by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state.

Another attack carried out by the Turkish occupation army with a drone on the Qamishlo-Derik road in Qamishlo canton resulted in the martyrdom of two citizens.

The Turkish escalation came shortly after a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his counterpart in the Turkish occupation state, Hakan Fidan, on August 31, and a meeting between the two heads of state is scheduled for tomorrow.

For its part, the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces confirmed in a statement issued yesterday, that it had started an operation "targeting ISIS cells and those wanted for criminal acts," and added, "But later various external forces intervened to exploit the operation as an opportunity to achieve its plans."

It stressed that the ongoing clashes are supported by gunmen loyal to the Turkish occupation state and elements of the security authorities in the Damascus government.

The General Command of SDF confirmed that the mercenary groups of the Turkish occupation state "took advantage of the confrontations by launching surprise attacks on the eastern countryside of Aleppo."

General Command added "They attacked 5 axes on the protection lines of the Manbij Military Council, but the council's fighters fought valiantly and thwarted all attacks, and all military points were restored."

 General Command's statement pointed to "the presence of gunmen linked to security agencies affiliated with the Syrian government, who snaked from the western bank of the Euphrates River to create discord and conflict among the people of the region."

In turn, the head of the Executive Body of SDC, Elham Ahmed, confirmed that "the clashes taking place in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor governorate are not isolated incidents, but evidence of the involvement of Iranian-backed militias and Syrian government to stir up unrest, strike the stability of the region and distract the Syrians' attention from the protes of As-Suwayda."
