Protest in Raqqa calls for ending leader Ocalan's isolation

The demonstration organized by the Young Women's Union in Raqqa with participation of members of the Union, the Zenobia Women's Gathering, women's offices in political parties, members of councils, communes, and war-wounded.

The demonstration started in front of the Children's Hospital to the Women's Square in the city center, during which the participants carried banners calling for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and others denouncing the international conspiracy against him.

Upon the demonstration's arrival at the Women's Square, the participants observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then a statement was made on behalf of the Young Women's Union, which was read by the union's member, Latifa Hassan.

The statement stressed that Turkish fascism and its allies did not get a result despite their attempts to strike the project of the democratic nation, and target Guerrilla in defense areas."

The Young Women's Union pledged to the leader Abdullah Ocalan and all the people of the region, saying: "We will not calm down until achieving leader's physically freedom and spreading his free thought.

For its part, the Council of the Zenobia Women's Assembly in Raqqa condemned "the Turkish state's continued imposition of isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the owner of the democratic nation project that calls for justice and equality between the genders, the project which was adopted as a way to end the Syrian crisis."

The Council’s administrator, Kafia al-Kurdi, added, “The Turkish state fears the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan seeking to solve the issues of the Middle East, because the solution does not serve its colonial interests and plans, and the leader Abdullah Ocalan has been subject to strict isolation on the island of Imrali since 1999.

The statement emphasized that "the victory of women means the victory of society, as leader Abdullah Ocalan said, "If you liberate a man, you liberate an individual, but if you liberate a woman, you liberate an entire society," and we must follow his ideology and continue our struggle.
