​​​​​​​​​​​​​Warning about ENKS and KDP policies towards Afrin

Members, representatives of political parties, civil institutions, councils and communes gathered in Al-Qaed Square located in the eastern section of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo to make a statement regarding the policy of the so-called Kurdish National Council and the Kurdistan Democratic Party aimed at legitimizing the Turkish occupation.

The statement was read by the deputy co-chair of the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, Arin Hanan, that reads: “We, in the General Council in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo and its institutions and political parties, welcome the report of the US Treasury Department issued on August 17, 2023 and in accordance with its Executive Order No. 13894 - even if it came late, which includes the imposition of sanctions on the Sultan Suleyman Shah Division (Al-Amshat) and its leader Muhammad Hussein al-Jassim Abu A'amsha, his brother Walid Hussein al-Jassim, the Hamza Division and its leader, Saif Boulad Abu Bakr, and Al-Safir Auto Company.

The statement referred to the crimes committed by the mercenaries: "The systematic violations and crimes committed by those terrorist military factions associated with the Turkish occupation in all the occupied areas in general, which are carried out under orders and directives from the Turkish occupation state to carry out forced displacement and systematic demographic change and Turkification operations, looting, kidnapping and imposing royalties, this is in clear violation of the provisions of the 4 Geneva Conventions of 1949, the two protocols appended thereto of 1976, the Rome Statute and the 1949 Genocide Convention, not to mention the construction of settlements which are considered war crimes pursuant to the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Hague Convention of 1907, although these crimes and violations that have been going on for several years are sufficient to place these mercenary terrorist military factions under the list of terrorist organizations, as they are a mixture of remnants of global terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda, Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS, with the evidence and testimony of the Amnesty International report issued on 26/2/2019 and with testimony and evidence of International Fact-Finding Committee issued on 28/2/2019 as well.

The statement added, "The Barzani Foundation, which claims to be a charitable humanitarian association, is nothing but an intelligence institution affiliated with the Barzani Kurdistan Democratic Party that serves Turkish interests in consolidating systematic demographic change, building settlements, and displacing the remaining Kurds, by directing intimidating private war messages through the audio-visual media institutions affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, such as Satellite TV and Radio Rudaw.

The statement demanded: "All human rights and humanitarian Bodies and organizations place these military factions on terrorist lists in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 219 of the US Citizenship and Immigration Act, and impose military, economic and diplomatic sanctions on the Turkish state that supports and finances these terrorist military factions, which pose a threat to the whole world, and a direct threat to all peoples yearning for freedom, so that Turkey has made all occupied areas safe areas for all terrorist forces and their leaders, and an example of this is that the terrorist who killed the martyr Hevrin Khalaf, nicknamed Abu Hatem Shaqra, is still having fun under the protection of the Turkish state.

The statement held: "The international community is fully responsible for its negative positions as a result of everything that is happening in front of its eyes in all the occupied areas in general and in Afrin in particular for not carrying out its legal, moral, humanitarian and human rights responsibilities and duties to expel the Turkish occupier and the safe return of all the forcibly displaced people to their homes".

The statement warned the people of occupied Afrin, "not to be drawn into all rumors through special warfare means and to stick to their lands; because our homes and hearts in Aleppo and Shahba are open to you whenever you want".
