Another two meters and the Euphrates Dam will be out of service

According to the administrator in the Euphrates Dam operations room, Imad Obaid, the level of the Euphrates Dam is witnessing a significant decrease, which negatively affects its work, and if the Turkish occupation state continues to reduce the water level of the Euphrates River, "disasters will occur."

The total reserve of the Euphrates Dam is about 14 billion cubic meters, and as a result of Turkey’s reduction of the water level flowing into the Syrian territories, 4 billion cubic meters of the reserve has been lost, according to those in charge of it.

Al-Obaid confirmed that "this decrease negatively affected the work of the drinking water pumps, in addition to the lack of irrigation water for agricultural lands in the countryside of Raqqa and Tabqa."

According to the administrator, the electricity operating hours are 11 hours, 4 hours in the morning and 7 hours in the evening, but at the present time it has become 6 hours per day, and if the lake water level continues to drop, the hours will be reduced even more.

Two meters and the dam is out of service

"If the lake level drops by two meters, the Euphrates Dam will be completely out of service," al-Obaid said.

The nominal storage level in the lake is 304 meters above sea level, and today the level is 298 meters, which constitutes most of the shape and structure of the storage lake.

The administrator in the Euphrates Dam operations room warned of the catastrophe of the continued reduction of the Euphrates River water by the Turkish occupation state, and called on international forces and human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene and oblige it to pump water according to the signed agreement.

In a previous statement to ANHA's agency, the engineer and director of the Rojava Dam (Tishreen) revealed that they had lost 85% of the lake's natural stock, as the natural level of the Tishreen Dam is 325.50 meters above sea level, and the lake level reached 320.98, i.e. the dead level, which means stopping the dam. October, which happened last year, and he expressed his fear of a recurrence of the matter.
