Clashes between Damascus forces, ISIS mercenaries in Al-Bukamal desert

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, violent armed clashes broke out during the past hours between the Damascus government forces and ISIS mercenaries, within the areas controlled by the Damascus government forces and the groups loyal to it, in Al-Bukamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, amid information about deaths and injuries,

This comes 3 days after the killing of 10 and wounding 6 of the Damascus government forces, against the background of the violent and sudden attack of ISIS mercenaries on checkpoints and vehicles belonging to the Damascus government forces within the town of Maadan Ateeq in the eastern countryside of Raqqa.

The death toll during the military operations in the Syrian desert, according to the SOHR’s documentation, has reached 379 since the beginning of 2023:

20 ISIS mercenaries were killed in clashes with the Damascus government forces and Russian air strikes in separate areas of the desert of Homs, As-Suwayda, Hama, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and Aleppo.

202 of the forces of the Damascus government and the groups loyal to it

157 citizens, including a woman, were killed in the attacks of ISIS mercenaries in the Badia.
