Efforts to re-pump the water of Alouk station

The co-chair of the Water Department in the city of Hasakah, Issa Younes, revealed that there are efforts with UNICEF to operate the Alouk station, and confirmed: "What is being circulated through the media that the Damascus government is seeking to solve this problem is incorrect, because the Damascus government accuses the Autonomous Administration of being a party to the conflict of  water crisis.

Issa Younis explained: "The Turkish occupation is exploiting this card to put pressure on the Autonomous Administration, and tells the world that the Autonomous Administration is obstructing the water issue and stopping the Alouk station. We affirm that we were not obstructing any agreement that serves the residents of the city of Hasakah, and we hope that the efforts made to deliver water to the residents will culminate with success.

And about the understandings that took place between the Water Department and UNICEF during a meeting held between them, Issa Younes noted: "The agreement was as follows: We provide Alouk station with 6 megawatts of electricity from the city of Darbasiyah, in return for operating 18 wells or more, in addition to operating 4 pumps and more." above, and follow the path of water from the Alouk station towards the city of Hasakah.

He explained, "The Alouk station will operate during the next few days, provided that it is monitored and followed up by UNICEF, and a five-day period is given as an experiment, and in case of non-compliance, other procedures will be resorted to."

And the co-chair of the Water Department stated: "We do not know what the reality of the station is, but we asked UNICEF representatives to enter a team belonging to them to the Alouk station to see the reality of the station, and demanded that the station be neutralized from the ongoing conflict in the region, through which the Turkish occupation aims to displace the residents of the region."
