Catalan government delegation visits Kobani

A delegation from the Catalan region visited the Kobane district in the Euphrates region, and met the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates region.

The delegation, which visited the shrine of the martyr Dijla at the beginning of its entry into Kobani, consisted of 2 members of the Catalan parliament, Robin Wagensburg and Marc Barbasil, and human rights and social activist Lara Costafreda. they were received by a delegation from the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region, at its headquarters in Kobani.

The 2 sides discussed the relations between the Catalan region and the Autonomous Administration in recent years, especially after the political recognition of the Catalan region of the Autonomous Administration in 2021 with all its political institutions, and considered it an important step in the relations between the two sides.

The Catalan delegation inquired about the political, economic and social conditions that the regions of NE Syria are going through, especially the city of Kobani, which is exposed almost daily to attacks by the Turkish occupation army.

For his part, the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Euphrates region, Muhammad Shahen, fully conveyed to the delegation of what is happening in the region, especially the efforts of the occupying power to occupy the region through its repeated attacks and targeting citizens with its drones, and the silence of the international powers regarding the Turkish violations.

Shahen asked the Catalan delegation to further strengthen relations between the two sides, especially in the field of education and services, and to convey of what is happening in the region to the whole world, and to emphasize that the AANES is the ideal solution to the Syrian crisis, and political recognition of it will ensure that each component obtains its right and identity, and will help to end Syrian crisis.
