PYD denies any action that harms Sweden

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) published a statement on its official website denying any action that harms the interests of Sweden and its people, that reads:

"The name of our party, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), was mentioned in the context of the understandings that took place between Turkey and the Kingdom of Sweden as a result of the bargaining that took place between the 2 parties regarding joining NATO and the blackmail practiced by Turkish fascism on countries and powers that understand the suffering of the Kurdish people, and also, the Turkish regime is not satisfied with the neutrality of these parties, but rather tries to win all powers, especially NATO, to its side in the war it is waging against the Kurdish presence all over the world.

We in the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) decided to clarify this, stressing once again that we have nothing but respect and appreciation for the Swedish people and their institutions, which play a prominent role in establishing world peace, and its mediation efforts to resolve the Syrian issue. Our party has not practiced any action that harms the interests of the Kingdom of Sweden and its people. Rather, we denonce the pressures and the blackmail it is subjected to in order to influence its humanitarian stances in support of democracy in the world".
