Karayilan: Resistances of Amed prison, July 14 led to success of our movement

This came in an article written by the member of the Leadership Committee of PKK, Murat Karayilan, on the occasion of the anniversary of the July 14 Hunger Strike:

"Above all, I remember the prominent resistance fighters Muhammed Khairy Dormoush, Kemal Pir, Akif Yilmaz and Ali Cicek with respect and gratitude, on the 41st anniversary of July 14 Hunger Strike, I bow before their memory with respect, and we renew our pledge to follow in their footsteps to the end and embrace their memory."

"The resistance of July 14 is an embodiment of the ideological-philosophical position of the leader Ocalan, as the Kurdish community at that time became a defeated society from all sides and suffered the pain of death through unfair genocide policies and practices, where the society became exhausted and on the verge of extinction, except by making a great sacrifice, a commando stance, and great courage led by prominent figures. Leader Ocalan saw this matter in the first steps and diagnosed it correctly, as he conducted in-depth training for the first group in this context. Of course, this matter was also established in his personality. Therefore, the first person who acted with the feelings of the guerrilla spirit within the ranks of our movement is the leader Ocalan himself."

The high commando spirit of the July 14 resistance showed the way to victory

The Apo's movement, which achieved its deepening, firm ideology, position and sense of redemption in this context, began the partisan stage in this way, and the truth of this position that started is up to me to decide; He arrived at the prison with Mazloum Dogan, who carried out the commando operation under harsh conditions without any hesitation, and with Farhad Kurtay, Mahmud Zengin, Ashraf Anik and Necmi Oner, whose bodies were set on fire. Khairy said to Kemal Pir, “What are we going to do, Kemal?” Comrade Kemal answered him, “We must spill our blood.” And through this dealing of the spiritual-redemptive attitude, it was highly emphasized, therefore, the resistance of July 14 Hunger Strike is a historical resistance, and it has the highest level in Apo's movement that drew the line, and it is that position that emphasized the methods of victory under the most difficult circumstances."

Their historic operation in Amed prison was the greatest support for the leader

The comrades on the path, Khairy, Kamal, and Mazloum, were among the most supportive of the leader Ocalan abroad, through their participation in the stage of waging the struggle, these prominent comrades expressed self-criticism during the prison stage.

 Khairy said during his speech in court: “I fought for years in the ranks of liberation for the national liberation struggle of the people of Kurdistan, and I did not have any personal goals."

Also, when the ruler addressed the court by saying to Kamal Pir, “You have established the People’s Army,” Kamal Pir answered him by saying, “We wanted very much to establish the Kurdistan People’s Liberation Army, but we were not able to do so. The People’s Army, our number here would be much smaller, and our voice would be much louder.” These phrases, in addition to being the facts expressed by our distinguished comrades, were at the same time a heartfelt self-criticism of the leader, the people, and the struggle.

Cry of resistance to Amed Prison and the spirit of resistance of July 14 led to the success of our movement

On September 12, 1982, the fascist military junta imposed its power in Turkey and Kurdistan, and imposed deathly silence on the entire country. In such a situation, heading to the mountains that no one knew was impossible if there was no guerrilla spirit and sense of sacrifice.  Of course, many people who have been weakened in this matter have fallen in different ways and methods, but the biggest source that led to the success of our movement was the cry of resistance to Amed prison, and the spirit of the July 14 resistance.

The spirit of resistance to Amed prison paved the way for a solution

The foundation of building the Guerrilla movement and the development of the Kurdistan Guerrilla movement, which was shown by the leader Apo, was not an easy task at that time, because the educated cadres and those living in cities did not know well the life of the mountains and prairies, they did not have experiences and did not know the regions of Bhutan, Gharzan and other regions of their homeland, they went to those areas through a guide person and a compass device, now it is easy, there is a trace of Guerrilla in every region of Kurdistan and the community became known, at that time, there was no such thing, they did not know neither the mountains nor the community.

The August 15 leap was carried out with a high commando spirit, and in this way the Turkish gendarmerie outpost in Dehi was controlled within a minute and a half. It was not possible to attack an area of this type and control it in a short period of time except with high courage.

There is a tactical creativity to Guerrilla along with a spirit of sacrifice

Undoubtedly, the commando attitude and self-sacrifice are not enough for Guerrilla. In addition, there should not be tactical creativity, in addition to the commando spirit.

The tactical creativity had a role in the evolution of Guerrilla, in the nineties, and this spiritual attitude turned into a tactical style in 1996 With the commando operation carried out by Comrade Beritan (Kulnaz Qara Tash) and many other militants, as well as in the person of Comrade Zilan (Zainab Kanaji), this spirit that we consider the spirit of Zilan and Akid, appeared against the reality of the international conspiracy against our leader, and turned into a figure bearing the slogan "We will not block our sun.” At the same time, this spirit and tactical mentality turned into establishing an organization for the martyrs. There is no doubt that the basis of this matter is an organization based on ideological depth based on the philosophy of leader Ocalan, the training of cadres and a sense of sacrifice.

Sense of comradeship, spirit of solidarity and willpower developed in the Guerrilla fighters

Undoubtedly, the main strength of the Guerrilla in the face of such internal and external difficulties was their strong will, which consists of the Apo's ideology this is the libertarian line developed by the will, so the libertarian way of life, the sense of comradeship, the spirit of solidarity and the willpower that is born on the axis of the women's freedom approach, the Guerrilla fighters developed and made unbeatable, certainly the position of free women in particular has an important place in this.
