Proposals of International Forum about Lausanne won't remain dead letter

The director of the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies (NRLS) explained that they will share the proposals and recommendations of the international forum on the Treaty of Lausanne, with the community, countries and decision-making parties to recognize the rights of the Kurds in the new century.

Yesterday, the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies concluded the international forum it held in conjunction with the centenary of the Treaty of Lausanne under the title "Lausanne: Correcting Paths and Issues of Regional Stability and Security" with a number of recommendations, most notably considering the democratic nation system as a solution to the problems of the region, and the need to secure protection and international recognition of the Autonomous Administration.

In its closing statement, the forum called on the Kurdish forces to coordinate and consolidate their political, economic and military energies to achieve self-protection for the Kurdish people from the systematic genocide .

Monther Shayar confirmed, in a statement to ANHA agency, that: "These outputs and recommendations will not remain a dead letter."

He explained that they are currently working on preparing some arrangements, as there will be meetings with all groups and components of society by organizing conferences and lectures to put them in the form of proposals and decisions and work to implement them together.

200 personalities participated in the forum, including representatives of political parties, researchers, jurists, and academics from northern and eastern Syria and Kurdistan, and several European countries such as Germany, Spain and France, who confirmed during their participation that the Treaty of Lausanne, which was called the Peace Agreement, did not bring peace and stability to the people of the region. Rather, it gave legitimacy to the extermination of peoples and cultures.

Shayar noted that they will communicate with international media organizations to hold meetings abroad, in Başûr Kurdistan, and in European countries.

The forum stated that "enemies of peoples do not abide by any international laws or treaties, so the participants in the forum called on international powers to put in place a mechanism to compel them to abide by these international laws and treaties."

In this context, the director of the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies indicated that, 100 years after the Treaty of Lausanne, these decisions taken will be shared with the decision-making countries in the world, and proposals will be sent to them in English through their foreign ministries, and he continued: "We will share them with officials the elders in those countries with the aim of forcing these countries to reconsider their policies, restore the rights of the Kurds that were taken away from them and officially recognize them in their constitutions, in order to block the way for the massacres that were committed against the Kurds in the twentieth century.

Shayar confirmed that: "The project, which was implemented in NE Syria could be an alternative to the nation-state that divided societies and peoples, as it managed to reorganize society and bring them closer together, and get rid of countries that adopt the same slogan in everything".
