Delegation from Canadian Foreign Ministry visits NE Syria

The delegation was received by the Deputy Co-Chair of the Department of External Relations, Rubel Baho, the member of the administrative body in the department, Khaled Ibrahim, representative of the Women's Protection Units YPJ, Lana Hussein.

Deputy Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Rubel Baho, spoke during the meeting about the map of the last Astana meeting, which will form several alliances against the Syrian people, and these alliances will transfer the Syrian crisis to a new stage, which will complicate the situation and worsen it for all Syrians and the region.

Baho stressed that the only solution is through the Syrian-Syrian dialogue, calling on the international community to support these efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis, and to resolve the conflict in Syria in accordance with United Nations Resolution 2245.

Baho also touched on the issue of the trial of ISIS mercenaries, which was announced by the Autonomous Administration earlier, and how to carry out these trials, and called on Canada and the international community to provide support and assistance to establish fair trials for these mercenaries.

The Director General of Consular Operations at the Canadian Foreign Ministry, Victoria Fuller, in turn, said that Canada is very grateful for the cooperation with the Autonomous Administration in NE Syria, and is aware of its efforts in providing health, psychological and security care to its citizens, including individuals detained in light of the very difficult security situation and the compelling conditions that the areas of the administration are going through.

 Canada and its government are following the situation closely and with great interest and expressing their concern about the hardships and suffering endured by the Autonomous Administration, by managing and protecting these prisons and camps.

At the end of the meeting, five Canadian citizens, two women and three children, from the families of ISIS mercenaries were handed over, according to an official handover document between the Autonomous Administration and the State of Canada.
